Sharing the Experiences on Spino Tumors Surgery
Vasari Hall
IRCCS Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli
Pupilli, 1 Street - 40136 Bologna (Italy)
Short and informal scientific meetings are frequently more productive than larger congresses, particularly when speakers have known each other for a long time and have already shared experiences. Everyone uses the same terminology, and results are evaluated according to the same criteria.
The treatment of Spine Tumors has developed rapidly in the last 30 years, evolving from pioneering activities with limited resources to new technologies allowing early diagnosis, more accurate planning, and surgical precision. Small but close-knit groups of passionate researchers (among which is the AOSpine KF on Tumors) have popularized theoretical and practical knowledge.
A multidisciplinary approach is now considered indispensable. In this perspective, surgical techniques are conforming to radiotherapy by using new, more compatible materials, and to medical oncology through minimally invasive techniques. The role of plastic surgery is increasing as better consideration of soft tissues has proven critical in reducing complications and improving outcomes. All these issues will receive consideration in the friendly atmosphere within the ancient walls of the Rizzoli Institute
Here the program of Simposio.
