At the Rizzoli Institute, current research is programmed according to a multiannual plan that is developed following four main lines of research:
- Musculoskeletal oncology;
- Regenerative and reconstructive orthopedics;
- Innovative technologies for the surgery of pathologies of the musculoskeletal system;
- Inflammatory, infective, degenerative and/or genetic orthopaedic pathologies.
The current lines of research have been reconfirmed for the three-year period. Two supervisors have been identified, as clinical and research representatives, with a 3-year period assignment.
The lines include several research projects, entrusted to the responsibility of a dedicated scientific supervisor.
Current research is funded by the Ministry of Health, with resources distributed proportionally to the scientific production of every Scientific Research Hospitals - IRCCSs.
