The Simple Structure Training oversees the planning of training activities for the Institute personnel, the management of calendarized courses, accreditation tasks and management of ECM (Continuous Education in Medicine) events. The Institute is indeed a recognized ECM provider for the Emilia-Romagna Region.

The Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute is continuatively committed to the training and professional updating of its personnel, employed in assistance, research, support services and in the clinical area. In addition, it constantly promotes training events for healthcare professionals working in the field of orthopedics and traumatology, of muscular-skeletal oncology, of rehabilitation, of biomedical scientific research, and so forth, considering such activities part of its mission as a Scientific Research Hospital (IRCCS).

Training activities for the Rizzoli personnel fall under an organizational structure articulated as follows (deliberation n. 270 of June 16th, 2011):

• The Management Board performs its function for the governance and development of training strategies, with the support of the Training Board, a body composed by the Healthcare Director, the Company Representative for Training, the Department Directors, the Director of the Nursing Assistance Service, one representative of the Scientific Direction, and the Director of the Management Service for Human Resources, Union Relations and General Affairs. The Training Board is in charge of analyzing needs, evaluating the feasibility of the proposed solutions, planning and monitoring the training activities.
• The operative management of the training activities is instead entrusted to the ECM Training Sector, a branch of the Complex Structure Management Service for Human Resources, Union relations and General Affairs.

The Simple Structure Training relates to Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna for university training and specialist training in orthopedic field, and for the training of university professions.
Finally, it oversees the management of the Conference Center, frequently utilized as a location for conventions and congresses.
